Not that I've done this (yet), but the common thread to making iMail work
with external databases seems to be LET IMAIL CREATE ITS OWN TABLE and NOT
try to use an existing one. Good luck!

Subject: [IMail Forum] external database and sql6.5

I am unable to connect Imail5.07 to my external database using
SQLServer6.5.
Mail is on a separate machine. I've set up a virtual host to external, with
DSN set to IMAILSECDB;my sql UID;my sql password. I set the IMAILSECDB dsn
to the
second machine and its sql database. I set the permissions on the sql
table for
select, insert, delete. The sql table includes the 9 fields required by
Imail (I don't know the exact size for each text field, however).
I try to add a user in Imail admin and get blown out of the application
with:
     iadmin.exe application error
        access violation )xc0000005
     and
instruction '0x0045edcf' referenced memory. The memory could not be
read.
I've looked in the knowledge base and user manual, but I'm obviously
missing
something. Can anyone help me out?? Thanks in advance.
