We were using it for our entire 10,000 pager number as an internet paging
gateway. It is not what I would call a robust application. I had to manually
manipulate the registry for all the aliases and it overloaded the I mail
administrator. The user interface still worked without much problem.
Bpclient itself is lacking some standard email to paging client features. It
doesn't parse the mail in any way. If you have non standard headers, or
attachments that come first in the body then that is what shows up on the
pager. I never got a definite answer about busy or no answer. I believe -
and this is only my personal belief - that it does not retry and if it does
it may only try a couple of times and then dumps the page. It doesn't have
any settings. I talked with support extensively about bpclient, and as a
paging carrier, suggested some things that I thought would make it more
usable. Such as parsing the mail and possibly sending the pager number in
the subject so you would not need to alias every pager number.
It would work well for small applications with users who knew the
limitations of the application, but for large scale paging and mail
notification it doesn't hold up.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Email to pager client
I am looking for someone who is using this feature extensively.
What happens if the pager system is busy/no answer or for whatever reason
doesnt go thru..will it retry? And, where are the settings for this?
What about no dial tone?
It has been working fine, but I am trying to anticipate trouble before it
starts.
