I've read the manual, and I'm pretty sure these questions relate to stuff
that didn't make it into the manual.

My first question was phrased wrong - I apologize.
It actually had to do with whether unsubscribing via the imailsrv.pl form
and unsubscribe commands sent directly to the listserver work at all, if the
subscriber's name does not appear in users.txt

What people are really trying to do is get IMail to take them off of
users.txt, AND users.lst.

In other words, if I have subs subscribed everyone so far via the web admin
pages for my list, or by editing users.lst via FTP - in which case,
users.TXT is empty - then no one can unsubscribe themselves, can they?

My second question had to do with whether users.TXT would work if it
contained only addresses - that is, if there is no name at all.

I'm looking at "repairing" users.txt - by adding addresses or names and
addresses - IF that's what it takes to allow people to unsubscribe
themselves.

Hmm, are you saying that the program alias must be set up, for
"allow unsubscribe based on subject" to work?
I thought that the program alias was something the list owner used - to
handle unsubscribe requests by forwarding them to the alias?
