Hi all,

Over the last few months I have been very diligent about tracing open relays
that spammers are using and then requesting or if necessary threatening the
operators of the open relays to make them close their relays.
Lately, we've been getting spammed with mail coming through kbkids.com . I
notified them it was open and I even notified their uplink.

In response, their website administrator wrote me back:

I'm sorrying this has happend. This is the first time our server has been
used as a relay. We can't fix the Exchange server to stop it from being a
relay. However, KBkids.com will be bringing up a new mail server that will
prevent spam within three weeks. Please continue to allow our mail to pass
through. We have customers that we need to take care of. Thanks you. If
you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Thank you.

So before I put them in our kill lists and complain again to his uplink, my
question is: Is he lying? Is there a way to turn off the relay in Exchange
mail? If so, could you describe it to me so I could pass it along to him?
Could it be that SMTP in Exchange is stuck wide open or is this guy just too
stupid for words?

Thanks for your help,
John Karpf
