When creating a script to allow users to add themselves to an external database,
how do I check to see if an Alias has already been created for that same
address?
Where do I have it look to see if there has been an alias already created? The
external database only stores the primary email address. But say for example, I
have an alias called [EMAIL PROTECTED] going to my main address, and then someone
tries to signup as [EMAIL PROTECTED] the script can check the existing users and
see if it exists, but if it
only exists as an alias, the script wouldn't see it and then there would be
duplicate email addresses.
Can someone help me out here? How can I check against existing aliases when new
users sign up?
