Geoff,
Actually the SMTP service is the file SMTPD32.EXE.
If you replaced the 5.05 version with the 5.00 version, then the patch will
fail as the 5.07 version will NOT patch anything earlier than 5.04 (it checks
each file it patches!). Yes, it will probably work, but you will now have
problems with the SMTPD32 that are related to the version you are
running.
Now your system is in a state where you will no longer be able to 'patch' it
and you are running an untested mix of programs.
Best advise is to install your full copy of IMail and then patch to the
current version.
