IN most newer POP3 clients there is an option under their mail
settings that may read something like..  "My SMTP Server
Requires Authentication".  Simply check that option.
Nothing else is required in most cases.

We use this and none of our remote clients have a problem
with it.  Some actually point out that this makes them feel
more secure about using our server to send mail.  (False
security <g>)

I think -V pointed this out earlier today and I agree.  It may
come to the point one day where all SMTP servers require
authentication if all these hi-jacked open relays can't secure
their servers.
