We have a mixture of Unix (BSDI/Linux/RAQ Linux) and NT servers we need to back up and are looking at alternatives to what we are currently using. What backup solutions have you found to be effective? If you are backing up to tape as opposed to backing up to a seperate hard drive array, what tape drives/auto changers are good. What should I stay away from? I have been leaning towards backup up to a very large set of IDE drives on a Linux server and then to tape, mainily to speed up restores.
