When we moved to the same name format a couple of years ago, we
forwarded incoming mail from the old address to the new one and had a
vacation message at the old address that informed the sender of the
address change.  We let them run til we saw little traffic to the old
address.  But I only had a couple hundred accounts to deal with at the
time.
