This all sounds reasonable till you check the cost. Symantec did an
estimate for me that was more than $30,000 just to scan for virus. We
are considering Mail Essentials which will use a simple Norton or
McAfee programs to prescan email: http://www.mailessentials.com   This
is very much like a 'hook' using similar port schemes but costs far
less.

This would be the single most important feature that could be added to
Imail. Hotmail now distributes more than 60% of the internet's viruses
because there is no easy solution for FreeBSD.
