The one thing that some users were running into is that if SQL resides on a seperate machine then if you reboot either one of them then sometimes Imail will not reconnect to SQL and no one will be able to authenticate. There is an updated dll the Mike Nice did for this problem and it has cured that problem for me. If Imail and SQL reside on the same machine them you will not need it.

Here is the link to his dll just in case:

Sajith -

I installed my IMAIL at D:\Imail
1) my dll path is: D:\IMAIL\ODBCUSER.DLL
2) my ODBC is: IMAILSECDB;UID=abc;PWD=abcdef;DB=imail

You are better off deleting any tables you've already created and let the program create its own which it will do once you have the DSN correct.

Hi,
I think I have made some mistakes in the Entries to configure the  External Database Enteries. So Please do send the Enteris U have made in the Configure Dialog Box for External Database.

1) External Database Implemantation Dll
I have given the path as c:\iMail\ODBCUSER.DLL
2) ODBC System Datasource Name
I have set it to IMAILSECDB
3) TableName
        UserInfo

Please do verify whether the above entries are correct and please do give me the Fields and their type that U have used for the Table
Thanx
Sajith

Yes it works very nicely.

I had to set up my DSN exactly this way:
DSN;UID=abc;PWD=abc;DB=imail
where UID = user id, PWD = password, and DB = name of imail database
