We are using ODBC links to SQL 6.5 for IMail users. Our weensie little Back Office
suite allows 15 concurrent SQL connections, and I am wondering:
1. Does each IMail virtual domain DSN use a single SQL connection, regardless of how
many concurrently logged-on (or logging-on?) domain members are accessing their mail?
and
2. If each user session requires its own "SQL connection", does the connection open
and close in a metter of seconds, just long enough to execute the authorize request,
or does it stay open until log-off?
and
3. If we are at risk of saturating our SQL concurrent user licenses as our traffic
grows, should we drop back to using IMail's native database (I don't EVEN want to
consider using the NT User registry, thank you!) instead of ODBC, or Bite the Big
Bullet for more Micro$oft seats?
