Windows NT Magazine has information about the problems with SP6 and the new
release of SP6a and a hot fix previously. this may have caused some
people's problems.

Microsoft has released two new service packs for Windows NT 4.0: NT
4.0, Terminal Server Edition (TSE) Service Pack 5 (SP5) and NT 4.0
SP6a. For some reason, TSE service packs tend to remain at least one
major revision behind, although SP5 is not required for Y2K compliance.
TSE SP5 is roughly identical to the SP5 release for NT 4.0 that
Microsoft released earlier this year.
As for NT 4.0 SP6a, Microsoft upgraded the service pack because of a
major Winsock problem that the company addressed in a hotfix last week.
The problem apparently is severe enough that Microsoft decided to re-
release the service pack with the fix included.
