We had this exact problem and I've been through MS Tech support with it.

Occasionally an IMAP message header would not appear AT ALL in Outlook Express 5.0,
but appear to be a perfectly normal message in Web messaging. Plus messages from the
same sender were known to have appeared normally in OE 4.0x.

Per Microsoft, the issue is non-standard header formation in the particular message in
question. OE 4.0x was sloppy in its adherance to Email standards, in this case IMAP
RFC's. This resulted in an easy going client that presented non-standard headers
routinely. The upgrade to 5.0 adheres more closely to the RFC's and refuses to
present messages with certain header deficiencies. With the messages I showed them,
they claimed something about leading spaces in the From: clause. I'm not sure I
believe all this, since OE5.01 came out about a month ago.

They tried very hard, but couldn't drop the issue onto Ipswitch because the messages
were present in Web Messaging. Everything pointed directly to OE 5.0.

I still get a few messages a month with this behavior. I'm upgrading everyone to
OE5.01 or getting them to use Web Messaging. We'll see.

If you are using IMAP, this is a known problem with certain e-mails.
I am thinking it is an Outlook Express problem since it has been duplicated
on
other servers. From the best I can recall my problem with this went away
on the last update of Outlook Express.
