I replace my users.lst file weekly from the output of an SQL query. The file
I create is just a list of email addresses without any "brackets" <>. This
list is sent mail weekly after this update, and seems to work fine. The
users.txt file seems to only carry the email to real name translation.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Adding multiple users to list

Can someone tell me the right (easy) way to add multiple users to a mailing
list?
I need to add several hundred list subscribers (no mail accounts on the
IMail server are needed) to a new list.
During testing, when using the web interface to add a user to either the
user list box area or the digest list box area, the only files that seem to
be modified are the users.lst and digest.lst files, depending on which box
the name was added to.
It seems that using a simple text editor, i.e. notepad, to add the names
with the < > around the name should work as this seems to duplicate what the
web interface is doing. However, looking at KB# IM-19981218-EM02, IMail
seems to say that user.txt also needs to be modified although this file is
only updated if the user is added by the subscribe command in a mail
message.
Am I missing something here or is the KB article refering to something other
than what I want to do?
