Ever since I got Imail I have been complaining about Netscape's IMAP
behavior. I think I can qualify the bug now.

If Communicator is configured to move mail into the trash rather than
marking it for deletion, filed mail in folders other than the Inbox
never get deleted if you put them in the trash. I believe this is
because Communicator will only "expunge" the InBox when configured to
use a trash can. Manual attempts to compact the folders will fail until
Communicator is configured to "Mark As Deleted".

Of course the problem is that my whole company uses Communicator and
except for the aforementioned behavior I like it too. I guess what I
need to do is place an info page on my Intranet that tells people how to
Expunge their mailboxes even though I know they won't do it.
