I am so far have NO problems with Imail 6. I did the upgrade from 5.08 to
version 6 on Saturday and everything seems to be working fine. We pulled
out the web templates that we modified until we can update them with the
new features. We have clients accessing the mail via POP, IMAP and via the
site without any problems.

After installing Imail 6.01 (over an existing 5.08 install) I get a lot of
angry customers on the phone: "we can not read our mail".
I lost 5 hours looking into this and finaly reverting to the 5.08 install.

What I found so far going wrong with 6.01 (making it USELESS over here):
-message-count stays 0 (zero) but there are messages in the mailbox
I noticed more people on the list reported this. Ipswitch support seems
"not to believe us" guys....
-the "modified" date/time shown in administrator on the files is completly
WRONG
-a "lastlog.in" file isn't created nor updated anymore (making it hard to
track when/who/what when things go worng).
-The system.log shows MANY lines like this:
12:17 00:00 SMTP-(00000154) (E1) ERR dwS=1688 dwS1=1682 UID=245220022
Ipswitch Support seems not to be able to tell me what these errors are.
"Don't worry" they told me :-)
I'm pretty sure these lines explain why the message-count stay 0 but
messages are there (and can not be read....)
Is there anyone out here running 6.01 without trouble ?
I'm back to 5.08 for the moment... Took me many hours and an argument with
my boss (who proposed to buy some decent software).
And about the "major update" this is supposed to be. IMHO this is not
worthy to be a 6xx version. 5.5b would be better.
A mojor update IMHO should include some basic stuff as there is:
-topics in the header of digest - list mail.
-a "do not respond to..." for autoresponders.
-.....many thinhs more (as there were in SLmail 2 years ago, but they had
other problems... That's why we switched to Imail. I start to regret this
decision).
So if anyone is running 6.01 without trouble: let us know.
P.S. Those who have trouble: do you have set a "TZ=...."
environment-variable on your NT-box?
Perhaps the date-stuff gets confused by that?
I need the TZ for some other apps.
