I am going to have to disagree with Anthony on this one. I wouldn't point
the domain's A record to the IP of the mail server unless it is also the web
server. It is standard procedure for the domain to default to the webserver
to accommodate those that just enter "domain.com" in their browsers. For
mail delivery (SMTP) this is overcome with the use of MX records that will
point to the mail server. For mail retrieval (POP3 & IMAP4) there is no way
to do a re-direct, as t is, to the mail server from just the domain name.
Your users will have log on to the actual machine. You will also have to
alias the domain in Imail as Anthony explains. This can all be thrown out if
I misunderstood your question about connecting to the POP server. :-)
