I had the same problem as well and e-mailed Ipswitch tech support.  They sent me the following message: "Sounds like the liveupdate utility may be malfunctioning.  Please go to http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/files/lu/lu.html and download the lusetup-lt.exe." I downloaded and installed the above file and all is fine now.
