John We did this for both our forklifts and pallet jacks. Buy a 12 volt deep discharge golf cart or marine battery. Wire a cigarette lighter socket to it. Get a automobile charger/power supply for the laptop, and your done. Works all day, trickle charge it overnight. We've in the past also added an inverter to power mobile printers. Put it all in a box and attach to whatever. You can buy the parts at Costco and be done if a couple of hours. Wire, cig. adapter, inverter, batt, box. Not elegant but it's worked for years.
