Here is what we have found... we can export from Merak and get a trash file that I can run a DTS in SQL on and get the username, password, and full name out of for Add user. We have to do this on a domain by domain (and there are about 800) level. We lose all the aliases and have to recreate each one manually. And in several cases there are more than 10 aliases per account. Also, each site has 20 or so groups (mailing lists) that we are having to recreate manually. Not to meniton the extensive list of 800 or so domains that would be nice to just import. All in all this is a very manual, if not tedious, project. Has anyone out there dealt with a migration from Merak before? If so were you able to write a tool or hire a consultant to work with you on it? We would be willing to entertain opportunities such as this.

I have looked at this option but when I export the addresses from Merak and clean up the file to be able to be imported, I still have to manually recreate aliases and I also have to delete and recreate all groups because the exported file doesn't specify and the groups e-mail address are created as standard users. I am wondering if anyone has moved from Merak at all to IMail and if so, did they write a custom tool, did they have a consultant who can help with this? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

I don't have anything specific for Merak, but if you can get username and password info from it into a file, you could use the adduser.exe that comes with IMail to create the users. There is also a command line tool, Adddomain.exe that can be used to create domains. Both will give usage with the normal /? parameter.

Hello, we are in the process of migration to ICS from Merak. The server is tested and ready to go. I cannot find any documentation on this and wanted to know if anyone here has any experience with this. We have over 800 domains and 8000 users so simply recreating each account is pretty much out of the question . Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
