I've looked at the command line utility but it hasn't got anything
documented for what I want to do.
I've got a VisBas program which I've knocked together which allows the
addition of user accounts and all the configuration needed with that.
IMail has the email addresses coming as [EMAIL PROTECTED] and I'd
rather [EMAIL PROTECTED]: ok it's only a cosmetic thing. This seemed to
work fine with the local IMAIL database, but when using the NT database
(which I want so when a user changes their password it's reflected in IMAIL)
it doesn't work.
I've got round this when I create the user account with the VisBas program,
i create a registry key
LOCAL_COMPUTER\Software\Ipswitch\IMAIL\Domains\[hostname]\Users\[username]\M
ailAddr = whatever I want the reply to be.

I don't like this solution but it worked when I just tested it.
Create a default user and set the preferences how you want them to be.
Copy the users folder (D:\imail\users\username) to a second directory. When
the account is created- copy the contents into the new user's directory.
This again relies on creating the accounts with some sort of script.

As for automatically deleted JUST the deleted folder
a script is needed to go into every directory under d:\imail\users\ and
delete the
deleted.uid file, and copy over the deleted.mbx and deleted.srt files from
the account created earlier. This seems to work but I haven't tested it all
yet.
- Ipswitch don't seem to be giving me the attention which I would expect. If
i cannot get their product working perfectly under evaluation I'm not going
to buy it. The other problems are still to be solved. Maybe ipswitch will
address them after all they have more knowledge of their product than I or
do (or they should have).
I've discovered how in-flexible the web-messaging templates are- some of it
look awful if I have enough time then I'm going to try other servers, even
if I have to buy a web-messaging part separately.
Ipswitch really haven't impressed me- and I'm just thankful that I took the
time to program a user-manager for the adding user accounts early on-
without it some of the things here wouldn't work. It's really, really messy!
