Hi Travis. The odd part of this all is that these "were" valid users until
this stopped working.
For the first time we also saw pop accounts "randomly" disappear as
described in Sam's message, and we're using registry, not ODBC
ERR mail.cydian.com invalid user <[EMAIL PROTECTED]
There is a > missing. Check to make sure they are not using < or > when
entering the address when sending mail.
I noticed that also. It isn't being sent in any special way. We're using
a web based email program that I wrote - and have been using
for years. I can email several people from it, some get it and a couple,
like the address above, did not get it. I'll have to check the logs to see
how other emails were handled (ie. was the > dropped out)
And second, make sure if you have a Cisco PIX firewall that you have SMTP
fixup disabled.
We're not...
Third, make sure it shouldn't be mail.abcdef.com and not just adcdef.com.
Its official mail.abcdef.com aliased abcdef.com
There are dozens of other email accounts under that virtual domain that
work just fine.
Very, very strange...

We've had complaints from a few customers that they aren't receiving
messages. When we check the logs, we see blocks like below.
Note the two addresses: login160c (a valid alias) and login160 (a valid
POP)... the domain has been changed to protect the innocent...
We're creating both the users and the aliases through the
administrator. They are DEFINITELY there. Yet, we're getting this
"invalid user" message.
Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas on what could cause it? We're on
7.21
