I don't think it's unethical but I do think it is insulting. Also, all that complaining we did last year did shake things up a bit since we don't hear from Jill any longer and we have a standalone Imail now. Perhaps ISP's don't represent a large enough group to complain for ourselves here but you're right we do have a choice as to where we spend our money.

A friend of mine works for Sprint here in Tallahassee and he's telling me that Sprint is lobbying the State to let them impose a Katrina fee to cover the cost of their lost exquipment. In my book they shouldn't have installed it below sea level so why should I have to pay an extra fee for that? You and I would eat the cost of our datacenters and couldn't hope to get our customers to nut up to pay for it on top of our normal fees.

Ipswtch's error last year is no different in my opinion..

What is unethical about it? This is a free market, capitalistic society
we live in that says I can charge whatever I want and you can decide
whether you want to buy it. The people who complained the most over the
past 18 months are the ones who are still complaining. It's obvious that
the price increase will have to be weighed against the cost of
migrating. But the decision is still yours

$995.00 is a 50% increase in the prices of last year's SA and that is
not only GOUGING, but TOTALLY UNETHICAL!

To be honest, Kevin did mention what the prices would be close to,
however I was in my car driving home after being at a client for 6 hours
and I was tired and hungry, so I do not remember what numbers he said,
but I will say that either the 1000 user SA or unlimited user SA will
have a MSRP of about $995.

Decisions are best based upon facts as opposed speculation.

Why the mystery about the new cost of SA? Why can't IPSwitch be
upfront, rather than sell the idea of buying an SA at the prevailing
cost?
