This will never be allowed for medical services because of all the current
and proposed HIPPA regulations.  With the advent of newly proposed
legislation for both the banking community, I see much of what is currently
being done via the public web being substantially further secured as well.

I work very closely with a programmer for the VA and they are not allowing
any web based data.  It must all be via secure connections to local servers,
interconnected to other locations via secure links.

>From a security based standpoint only, the web based model is doomed from
the start.

I see that you don't listen to Forbes on Radio. Yesterday they spoke about
this topic specifically relating to MS, and the plan for the future is that
you access the software sort of like cable TV. The equipment software and
hardware for the most part resides outside your home.
