This is basic information about a virus scan that I have found effective. I
use the AV that come with 8.12. and update it on a regular basis. I tried
using norton for 2 years and it seemed to fail my mail server as well as my
clients.

The product that I have found to be the most useful, fastest scaning
(doesn't slow down my TS server with 100+ users on it) is ESET's NOD32. I
would recomed and give it a side my side comperasion. It will find the
trogens that symantec and macafee leave behind.

i.e. have you ever and I'm sure you all have gottent the ebay.com email that
wants people to fill out account information and such. Norton nor MacAfee
ever cought the trogen. NOD32 did.

>From what I have experanced with everything out on the internet : Norton,
McAfee, TrendMicro, CA, and NOD32. I pick NOD32 hands down. Limitations??
I have found none to this point at between 2k and 4k cheaper than Norton 2
year acreement, that is for corprate(which doesn't have the use of 2 procs
only enterprise does, according to there tech support). Give it a try.. 30
day free trials.

I'm not a sales person.. Just another IT admin that has come to grips that
the "big dogs" are not as mean as some of the small ones. In someo cases I
have had to tone down NOD32 from finding things that were not viruses just
because the coding of the files seem to be a certain way.

For all of you that got the Somber.Y virus, I'm sorry. It never touched my
systems with out getting caught. http://www.eset.com just take a look and
see.
