This maybe true if using the NT User database, but I have been on this list
for a couple of years now and have never heard that IMail would not scale
beyond 7000 users if using IMail's own built-in user database. Maybe this
is what you were talking about when you referenced using "an external
database"? However, I took it to mean using and external Access or SQL
database.

You don't,, If you have to do it like that put Imail on the PDC.. Your best
bet is an external database. This is the only way to scale Imail above 7000
users. TRUST me I am at 40,000 and working with out a flaw..
