I tried removing the china blacklist and it won't let
me delete it through iadmin.

What do the logs say it's doing
while it's sitting at 21%? If you look at the task manager, is the cpu
time for smtpd increasing? Maybe try turning off some of the black
lists to see if that makes a difference.

ok, dictionary was reset to 0 and it's still
sitting at 21%

In services go to SMTP and clear
the max invalid recipients per session for dictionary attacks; that
should turn it off. (Note, you'll need to restart smtpd after
changing).

no, this is new. It bounces up and down but
doesn't seem to go below 21%. The only settings we've changed have been
those of the dictionary attacks.
I haven't seen a checkbox to turn off dictionary attacks?

Did your previous version also have this same behavior? Does
the cpu time used by SMTPD constantly increase in the task manager?
Since you installed 2006, what settings have you changed for SMTPD?
I would start eliminating settings in STMPD to try and find
the culprit. If you have turned on dictionary attack settings since
upgrading, try turning those off and see if that makes a difference,
etc. Let me know if turning something off makes a difference so we
know where to look. Also, could I see the logs for SMTP when the task
manager shows it's constantly eating resources?
Tripp
It's like that's the lowest % it will use.
Yes. Nothing that seems out of the ordinary. We're using spamhaus,
china and spamcop. Dictionary is set to block for 24 hours.
Note that a recycle of the smtp service sets it back to 0% and normal
operation.

constantly eating CPU cycles? Is there constant activity in the logs?
What settings in SMTP do you have activated for blacklists and
dictionary attacks?
Tripp
can someone from ipswitch shed some light
on this???

I've noticed that our smtpd service sits
at 21% for some reason. A restart of the service sets it back to normal
0-25% but this has to be a problem.
