I'm trying to use multiple dns servers with imail.
Imail's "dns field" will accept multiple entries, which should be IP
addresses, not domain names, but Ipswitch has advised here to enter
only one IP. I do not know if that advice applies to all versions of Imail.
I tried to set up my imail server to point to 127.0.0.1 and configured my
tcp protocol to point to our dns servers
Imail apparently doesn't use the DNS in the Windows tcp/ip settings.
If it does, then what's the Imail DNS field for?
However, when I do this, we are unable to send messages. If I set it back to
one of the dns servers it works again.
does:
netstat -an
... show a listener on 12.7.0.1:53 ?
The DNS server must have recursion enabled, and enabled for the IP(s)
used by Imail. DNS recursion should be restricted to your IPs, and
not available to Internet.
