That's true. I've tested this but they do not get 'duplicates', it appears more the result is more of a one-time waste of time and bandwidth.

The biggie is that if the user has their e-mail client setup as a IMAP
account, and configured to download the message to their client, their
e-mail client will now see those as new messages and download all of them.

OK.  are 'deleted' still delted?  just pending a purge?

Any impact on POP?

Is there a connection with the UID corruption and my queue manager
crashing?
