Hello All,
I'm new to the list so please excuse me if my problem is
redundant.
I have IMail v 4.06 and have been running the mail to fax
option for some time now. Recently our mail to fax traffic has increased to
around 500 faxes per day. With this increase I have noticed that the system will
simply stop faxing. All other SMTP/POP3 functions are fine and there are no
errors in ANY logs to indicate there is a problem. The messages to be faxed
remain in the queue and are faxed AFTER I reboot the system. NT tells me there
is nothing wrong with the modem or com port and the previous pass all
diagnostics.
I have tried several different modems ALL name brands using
P-n-P and Non-P-n-P settings alike. I have also monitored the line plugged in to
the modem (dedicated off one of my T1s) for any fluctuation - ALL appears to be
normal.
Our mail server IS dedicated to this process alone and is
running NT4.0 SP-4 on a PII @ 300MHZ w/512 MB, dual SCSI-3 Quantums,
100BaseT to the LAN - so I don't think resources are an issue.
Is there a particular modem and/or driver that IMail
likes? Will upgrading to IMail 6.0 solve my problem? Has the mail to
fax "option" been upgraded to coincide with v6.0?
Any guidance on this subject would be EXTREMELY
appreciated.
