Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Imail 2006 Punch List?

1. Cannot edit/update the Relay For Addresses file. This file is the
smtp32.loc file. This means that you cannot add any new clients to you
existing mail servers.
==KG> This is addressed in IMail 2006.02 coming next week.

2. IMAP and Web messaging interfere by creating a duplicate MAIN mailbox
within Outlook clients. There si now ay to get around this until you
manually delete the INBOX.XML file.
==KG> We have heard about this but don't think we have a reproducible case.
Can our TS group call you to track this down?

3. Web Messaging interface is slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
==KG> Could this possibly be an issue with SMTPD? Is it possible to get
access to an account? We've tried this on another account and have not been
able to reproduce the performance issues. Also, are these dial-up users and
roughly how big are the folders they are accessing?

4. The Web Messaging interface as it works now, requires way to unsecured
set of permissions in order to work correctly.
==KG> We have an alternative IIS permissions model doc that we are having
expert users review. Would you be interested in reviewing?

5. Web Calendaring is all but gone.
==KG> The Web Calendaring has not changed in this release. You still should
be able to access/use them - I believe even with Safari. We will be, in the
next sprint or two, adding back a link to Web Calendaring from within Web
Messaging.

6. Public shared contacts are gone. These existed before in the .cgi file
in the web directory.
==KG> This was a parity issue and are back in, in the 2006.02 release coming
next week.

7. SMTP AND IIS use a lot of resources. The more the machine runs the more
memory it gobbles up. I reboot now every third day.
==KG> You should not have to reboot every 3rd day. Are you seeing a leak or
some sort in SMTP?

8. Overall POP3 and IMAP performance has greatly slowed.
==KG> Not sure about this one. These core services were not really touched
from 8.2x to IMail 2006. What kind of performance issues are you seeing?
Slow sending/receiving?

Subject: [IMail Forum] Imail 2006 Punch List?

I appreciate all of the Imail 2006 feedback from the list participants.

Having been an Ipswitch customer since the TCP/IP product days
and an Imail site since v4, I want Ipswtich to be successful.
I want Imail to be improved and expand it's market share.

 Given that...

I have a policy of not installing an upgrade, hot fix or a
new version of Imail until I have watched this mailing list
and determined the upgrade, hot fix or new version
 does not impact my clients.

While I would like to move forward on Imail 2006,
I see too many issues at this time.

I would like to see a punch list of outstanding
 problems with Imail 2006.

What are the top five issues with Imail 2006?
