If I change a DNS server in the SMTP tab and hit save why the heck should it remove the checkmark from the Use port 587 box and force auth box?  If that is the way it operates, it needs to be re-vamped.  I should not have to expand the Advanced Options every time I hit save to stop the boxes form coming unchecked – should I?

Feel free to call me directly if you need me to demo this behavior or explain it better.

Regards,

Travis

hi travis,

thanks.

you summed it up accurately -  it does not commit changes until you select save.  once you select save, you can move to the next section.  but once expanded, it acts like a page in and of itself until a post back is peformed (via Save).

would you prefer real time, ajax like postbacks or a warning that you have made changes on the page but have not committed them yet or othe?

bye for now,

kg

Kevin and other Ipswitch Employees,

When changing anything in the SMTP IAdmin interface and hitting SAVE wipes out any settings other than the default ones in the Advanced Section.  In order for these settings to stick when changing the SMTP interface, you must have that section expanded before clicking on "save".
