Probably a temporary slowness that caused the PTR query to timeout, because:
dig list.ipswitch.com a +sh
156.21.1.21
dig -x 156.21.1.21 +sh
list.ipswitch.com.
PTR and A both exist and "match".
If a program received a timeout for a PTR query, the X header
document that timeout event, rather than concluding erroneously that
the PTR does not exist.
But who wants or needs such deep plumbing logging trivia dumped into
X headers of every message? insane.
