Take this with a grain of salt, because it happened back with Imail 7.15, but I was unable to get a "chained certificate" to work correctly with Imail. You're supposed to copy the contents of all three certs into one single cert I think, but I could never get it to work. We had to abandon the chained certs and get one from a trusted authority (Geotrust in our case). That was a few years ago, though and I don't know if it is possible now. YMMV.
