Chris,

These KB, although old and the log message is different, (and
I've advised the KB manager of these problems) explain these new
log lines:
IMail - MX connect fail error
http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19981110-DD02.htm
New log line message:
02:20 15:59 SMTP-(2da201700000a25f) [x] looking up aastra.com in
HOSTS and MX

IMail - Stack connect fail error
http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19990118-EM06.htm
New log line message:
02:20 15:59 SMTP-(2da201700000a25f) [x] looking up aastra.com by
stack

These are DNS issues and if you say you saw a problem, then you
found the cause, the errors should go away. If it does not, try
clearing the cache on your DSN and see what that does. Or try a
different DNS server in the IMail settings. Depending on your
IMail version, there is also a DNS cache in it that you can clear
or disable.

That the email goes through tells me that IMail finally gets the
answer to its DNS query and is then able to deliver the email.
This appears to be a transient problem (definitely try the stuff
above, if it reappears).

Subject: [IMail Forum] Looking up by stack

Hi all, having an interesting situation. We are getting the
following entry several times before seeing a failure. Then 20
minutes later, the same email goes through. Any thoughts?

02:20 15:59 SMTP-(2da201700000a25f) [x] looking up aastra.com in
HOSTS and MX
02:20 15:59 SMTP-(2da201700000a25f) [x] looking up aastra.com by
stack

Initial research shows a dns problem on their end... their MX
seems fine. Thanks for any help ;-)
