There was a big discussion about the ethics of BlueSecurity's methods here when they first came out. I have to say though, filtering is a bandaid at best. We have ASSP and as fast as it adapts to changing spam, it can't keep up when the spammer is altering the message every few emails and it gets filled with various text to screw with the Bayesian filters and weighting.
Email is fundamentally broken as it is. Either it needs to be redesigned or we need more people to participate in something like BlueSecurity. I will say this attack by spammers against BlueSecurity seems to be doing more for BlueSecurity in terms of popularity, than against them.
