I occasionally have this problem when a remote office sends email through
their ISP. There sometimes is a 3-hour delay from when their server
receives a message and when it sends the message.
Have the person at your bank look at the message headers. In Outlook, it is
the internet headers, viewable at View menu, Options.
In the headers, it shows lines saying "Received from {server} by {server}"
and time.
Received: from list.ipswitch.com [156.21.1.21] by mail.robinsonmfg.com with
ESMTP
(SMTPD-9.04) id A4CC0380; Wed, 17 May 2006 21:58:36 -0400
Find two lines with the gap of time they say, and you should know what
server held message.

do your logs show the messages leaving right away? If so then it's something
between you and them which you aren't likely to have much control over.
