Hello! I've read in the past that doing a front end in Cold Fusion isn't
the best idea because when a user logs in it downloads all of the
headers AND messages. This can put a lag on things when
your CF server has to pull things off the IMail server.
But what if both are on the same box? Can you do your web
front end in CF on port 80? And when you do your CFPOP / etc...
shouldn't it be extremely fast if they are on the same box?
Anyone try this?
Finally, IMail templates have links that let people change Finger info, etc...
Can I link to these functions from a CF page? Or are they tied to the
IMail web
server? And if they are, will they not functoin properly if the IIS/CF
servers
are running?
