Only if you plan on going larger than 2 GB.  It is kind of a manual process.  Create a new PST file.  Ti will ask you which type.  Then import everything from the old PST to the new PST.  Make the new PST the default deliver PST for that profile.  The newer PST can go as high as 10 GB i think?

Not sure if it will be smaller just by changing over.

Once I get the old PST working, do you recommend I upgrade? Any advantages? I was thinking it would probably store more efficiently and drop her file size??

Thanks Travis - I knew I could count on you to answer ;)

You need work 2003 with Outlook 2003 yes.  Not sure how you get Outlook without Word.

The file format will stay in the old format until you upgrade the file format.  It will work quite easily for you.

Does anyone have any advice for me about upgrading a single user from
Outlook 2K to Outlook 2K3?

I have been reading about how the old PST format is ANSI and the new format
is Unicode. My boss's PST file is about a gig and a half in size so that's
why I am upgrading just her. I am a little nervous about the upgrade and
screwing up her Outlook. Of course I will be backing it up before I do
anything, but I wondered if any of you gurus out there had some extra tips
for me.

Also, I read one tip online somewhere that if you use Word as your email
editor, Outlook 2K3 won't work with Word/Office 2K?? I couldn't find
anywhere else to substantiate the claim and hope that's not true.

Thanks tons.
