I've been waiting for over 6 months now for this issue
and the memory leak to be fixed. Will wrote: Just to be clear... This is an issue specific to Imail 2006 and I should be waiting for an ipswitch patch for this, right?Until then, I assume I should just run isplclean each day to clean it up? Alright, I tested again. Processing appears to be no different that it was with my third party software (delcude 4.2.12). There are still messages being left behind and they end their processing with this line: 20060630 123117 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (51c202860000045d) [222.213.157.76] E:\IMAIL\spool\D51c202860000045d.SMD 49847 I compared a number of left files to the log and they all seem to end with this type of log line. Am I correct in assuming that these files are the responsibility of the queue manager? It would appear by this test that my focus is on that. Make sure that field is empty or add "smtp32.exe" to it. Tripp -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Will Sent: Friday, June 30, 2006 12:11 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] List issues after upgrade to 2006 Well, That added to my story at least. I set it back to smtp32.exe and mail started to pour in after restarted the queue manager and smtp. Unfortunately, the mail is now building up much faster. I let it run for ten minutes and the spool folder increased by 6000 files in that time. It would appear there are still some messages not being delivered. Before the log file would end with this line as previously discussed: 20060630 120157 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (4af40192000006f1) [207.189.106.170] E:\IMAIL\spool\D4af40192000006f1.SMD 26442 But now that it is processing mail with only imail componenents I get two extra log lines for messages that are not processed. They are as follows: 20060630 120157 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (4af40192000006f1) performing antispam checks 20060630 120157 127.0.0.1 SMTPD (4af40192000006f1) (CP) error 2 executing "" "E:\IMAIL\spool\Q4af40192000006f1.SMD" Nothing after this and they stay in the spool folder. I have all the antispam features in imail turned off, so I'm not sure what the "performing antispam check" line is there for. I've re-enabled my declude software and the spool directory is getting back in line, aside from the three to six messages per minute of course. Since I don't see those lines it sounds like they are not being handed to the queue manager. As a test, can you change the deliver application to the imail path with smtp32.exe, then restart smtpd and the queue manager? Are you using any third party add on software that plugs in between SMTPD and the Queue manager? If you go to your SMTPD settings in iadmin, advanced options, what is in the delivery application box? If you don't activate within 30 days of installing, your queue manager will stop running until it has been activated. You should be able to look at the Q file for the messages which aren't being delivered and get the thread ID from the q file (the thread ID is in the line starting with the letter I. The I is not part of the threadID). Then search for that thread ID in the logs and see why the message is not being delivered. If they were not, I would probably have well over 100k messages in queue now. For some reason, select messages are being left. The smtp log doesn't show any obvious errors, just the usual server connection errors or unknown user errors now and again. This was an Upgrade and I was not provided an activation key, so I don't believe it is activated, whatever that means. However, I do not know where to find a status page that tells me if it is activated. The upgrade instructions I was given do not mention the activation and this was a service contract upgrade, not a new purchase. The list administration was the first issue I had encountered. I do have one other issue, which appears after the upgrade. My spool folder is slowly incrementing in size. I now have 4000 message where I normally maintain only a few hundred. This concerns me because it is slowly increasing in number each minute. Are there any known issues with 2006 that may cause orphaned files in the spool directory at a rate of around four orphaned messages per minute? When I enter list administration, my lists do not show on the screen. Strangely enough, if I go to the SMTP services screen and then return to list administration, the lists will then appear. However, when I attempt to configure a specific list, I get this error each time: Microsoft JScript runtime error '800a0005' Invalid procedure call or argument /IAdmin/IMail/ListGeneral.asp, line 16 Any ideas?
