Title: Message

I’ve turned them both off, along with their service monitor and we’ll see what happens.

Do the DNS cache and Skip List serve any useful function (if they’re working correctly that is)?

Thanks for the help.

It's not the DNS cache causing the problem. It is the Domain Skipping:

08:09 17:34 SMTP-(2e58000006144ea2) Info - Found bextpubs.com in skip list

This means that IMail could not connect to the domain on a previous try and will not try it again until the time frame configured for the Domain Skipping has expired.

Hope this helps

Subject: [IMail Forum] Queue manager hanging?

Hi Guys,

We’re running 8.15 on a Dell server. Haven’t made any changes to it recently but in the past month we’ve started having a problem.

The queue manager would not stop completely but outgoing mail would slow to a trickle.

The log seems to be full of  messages like this:

08:09 17:34 SMTP-(2e58000006144ea2) processing d:\IMail\spool\QHE2e58000006144ea2.VAC

08:09 17:34 SMTP-(2e58000006144ea2) [x] looking up bextpubs.com in HOSTS and MX

08:09 17:34 SMTP-(2e58000006144ea2) Info - Found bextpubs.com in DNS Cache

08:09 17:34 SMTP-(2e58000006144ea2) Info - Found bextpubs.com in skip list

08:09 17:34 SMTP-(2e58000006144ea2) Trying 192.168.1.220 (1)

08:09 17:34 SMTP-(2e58000006144ea2) [x] Connecting socket to service <SMTP> on host <192.168.1.220> using protocol <tcp>

08:09 17:34 SMTP-(2e58000006144ea2) [x] using source IP for hardwarespecialty.com [192.168.1.251]

Can anybody give me an help on this one?

Thanks,

Ro
