Yeah ASSP handles that and asks for more. I have one install that was
handling over 1,000,000 messages per day. (1 domain, just obliterated
by spam)

He called ASSP a "smtp gateway". It's a proxy. (Anti-Spam SMTP Proxy)
Semantics my friend... Proxy/gateway, whatever.... The user wanted
soemthing in front of his IMail server.
Not a wrong fact but...
He also called into question the ability of ASSP to handle high mail
loads on windows. The server with over 1 Million messages a day was
running on Server 2003 with the latest Active Perl.
Hmm, the official ASSP website states the following:

It should work well with between 1 and 300 client addresses and a mail
volume of up to around 100,000 messages per day. Testing has not been done
to verify these ranges ...

ASSP is an opensource smtp gateway. It is PERL powered so there is some
concern for it's ability to support high mail volumes on a windows
platform. If looking for a gateway solution, I'd recommend
FreeBSD/Postfix.

ASSP working as a replacement for Declude? Declude seems to be
following
Ipswitch's example by bundling more and more products together that I
really
don't want/need. Also, does ASSP work with SmarterMail?
Just checked the Declude website... Oh my gosh! Are you guys really
paying $1650/yr to use Declude with IMail?
mxGuard is $199 for the first year, $99 thereafter. Add-in the $30
invURIBL utility and you've got a killer anti-spam solution. You can
even pocket the $1500 in savings each year :)
If you want to go brute force, you can even add in Message Sniffer for
$495 and you are still $1000 ahead.
Admittedly, I am biased so try it yourself and come to your own
conclusions.
