What is the general consensus for people who have converted from 8.22 to
2006 with Mac Users? I have around 1500 users on the system and almost a
third are Mac Users. Will Imail 2006 web messaging work for most of the
users. I am not a Mac user so I don't follow what the popular browser is
for them. I am stuck upgrading to 2006 because of the vulnerability and
want to know what headaches to expect.
Thanks,
Keith

Hi All,
Yes, we provide patches only for the current major release.
Any customer who was eligible for 2006 will be given entitled to 2006.1.
Bye for now,
kg

My understanding from the Ipswitch tech is that they would not be
releasing
a patch for 8.22. I believe somewhere on the Ipswitch web site it states
that they will not release patches for an older version 90 days after a
new
version is released. This is my understanding but maybe Kevin can chime in
and give us an official word.

So did they say there would be a patch for 8.22 versions or must we
upgrade
to 2006.1? I let my support agreement expire this summer because I was
not
sure if I was going to continue on with Imail. Do I have to renew in
order
to get 2006.1 which is not vulnerable? I have a lot of Mac users, would
only the Safari users be affected by the web interface?

I spoke with an Ipswitch Tech who indicated that versions prior to 2006
are
vulnerable to the new issue. I upgraded last week to 2006.1 from 8.22
without any problems.

" Fixed a vulnerability that allowed remote attackers to execute
arbitrary code within the SMTP daemon."
Is the 8.22 version also vulnerable? A number of us have been
forced to
hold off migration to Imail 2006 until it is ready.

Well, I see that 2006.1 has been quietly released. I hope it was
worth waiting for...
