Please help!
Situation: According to Ipswich, you have to make sure that your SQL
external database is available before you start the IMail services.
Otherwise, as we have seen, IMail will not try to reconnect to the DB after
it fails to on the first attempt. As a result, often no one can log into
their accounts until the services are stopped and then started. Second,
since IMail cannot find any mailboxes, all the mail sent to a particular
domain is sent to the "nobody" alias. We have no problems rebooting our
database server and then our web server, however, we have experienced serous
mail routing issues when the database server has hung unexpectedly.
Has anyone else dealt with this situation? My guess is the ODBCUSER.DLL
file. Has anyone modified it to keep trying? What about mail monitoring
software that will restart the services?
Any help is appreciated!
