IMail  uses a modified version of the standard Unix mbox format with a
proprietary  index.  You  don't need the index file to do an import --
just  look  for  an  mbox importer/converter. Since you didn't mention
what  kind of mailbox storage your new server uses, it's impossible to
answer in more detail.
