Hi, all-

I've been using Symantec antivrus on my IMail (8.15) spool directory with good success for many years. A few viruses slip through, but they are caught at the client level, so we've had no complaints until recently. One customer has been getting several viruses a day in each of his 20 or so user accounts. We suspect an infected machine on his network, because he is the only client we are having this problem with, and the messages appear to originate in his network.

I looked at the status applet for the AV program, and I see that it is trying to scan locked files from time to time. It seems that IMail is starting to process the file before AV gets to it.

So, two questions:

1) Is there a way to insert a processing delay in Imail 8.15 so that the AV software can get to the file first?

2) Is there a way to rig up Clam AV with IMail? I know we can trigger Clam from IMail by entering the executable as the delivery program, but how do we tell Clam to feed the data to SMTPD32?
