Hi, We actually use 3Ware controllers for our servers. So far i know, they don't have low budget controllers. After these bad experiences i made with this crap from RocketRAID, i think it's better to invest a bit more money in serious controllers like 3Ware. Maybe it's a bad approach to save money on a such important part of a server ;-)

The controllers are performing very good with out any trouble over three years. While it seemed to install and configure OK they gave me problems when after installing the OS. It was more trouble than it was worth. Fortunately, it didn't cost me anything as they were purchased by a previous partner. I should've known they sucked as this guy bought 3 of them, only opened and tried 1, and when he left he didn't take the others with him. He did take some trash cans, a couple chairs, a paper cutter, stapler, and paper...but not the RAID controllers. Troy D. We want to have a standard machine for small Imail-Servers. The last days we tested the RAID Controller RocketRAID 1520 from highpoint-tech.com. Usually, a RAID Controller for two drives is setup in minutes and usually it works. With this controller, we made very experiences. No RAID1 Array will ever work, a duplication process of the disks fails every time. We played around with two controllers of the same type with no results. The only result i have is, that we have to give those Controllerd back into the recycling process. I like to ask, if somebody uses controllers from this company. -- Mit freundlichen Grüssen -------------------------------------------- Merlin Consulting Martin Schaible Bahnhofstrasse 27 CH-8702 Zollikon Phone: +41 44 391 30 00 Fax: +41 44 391 32 49 Mail: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] URL: http://www.merlinconsulting.ch Support: http://support.merlinconsulting.ch GPS: N47 20.235 E8 34.226 -------------------------------------------- News - Neue Produkte: .:. mxGuard - InvURIBL - MessageSniffer .:.
