I may not be understanding your question.

But to use Sql7 you first must create your database, say IMAIL. Assing a
user and password as you choose. Then stop there. Do not create any IMAIL
tables - imail will do it for you.

Then create a System DSN - say IMAILDB - pointing to your new IMAIL
database.

Then on the administration applet "External User Database" in the field
"ODBC System Data Source Name" enter this:
IMAILDB;UID=imailuid;PWD=imailpwd;DB=imail
where the first part is the system DSN, the 2nd is the user id for the
database, the 3rd is the password, and the fourth is the db name.
I had to leave off an ending semi-colon on mine or it would not work but I
think others have left the semi-colon.

Mine seems to be working fine with the dll I recieved from Imail. I am on
NT4 with sp6, PIII 500Mhz, 512Mb. I started with 6.01 and upgraded to 6.02
and have had no problems that others have reported - crossed fingers.

If you don't enter anything in the table name (leave default) then Imail
will create the table for you when you first add a user.

If you have to import data then you have to have the table layout which is
documented in the Imail manual.
