Wouldn't it be nice mail servers could use some flavor of compression on emails between mail servers we would all enjoy bandwidth savings.
Anyway, we really need this feature to ensure our servers aren't sent 10 or 50 GB files because it's going to happen at some point. The only thing worse than the case you stated is if the server, by chance, only had 100 megs free drive space.
